Sometimes, when we’re too busy, we forget that there is such thing as “HAPPINESS”. Workloads and hectic schedules stress us and before we know it, we’re spiraling down the drain of depression.
Why? Because in life, there should be a balance of everything. You can’t just work, work, work. You also need to slow down a bit and appreciate your surroundings.
I, for example, go to college. There are homeworks to make, research papers to finish, and exams to study for.
Then there’s writing. When I go home I try to write a few pages of my novel. I also need to update my blogs.
For the first and second month, I got so tired of it all. But hey, I realized it’s just a matter of balancing your life. Life is too short to waste, right? These may be common ideas. But I just want to share them with you. ^__^

1. Spend time with your friends– Let’s face it. One of the reasons why we stick with our friends is because they make us happy. Study shows that having close friends helps us fight depression and anxiety. So grab your phone, call your friend, and hang out together!

2. Laugh- Laugh like there’s no tomorrow! It reduces stress hormones level and keeps depression at bay  by boosting the production of serotonin, a natural anti-depressant.

3. Experiment- Do something out of the ordinary. Allow yourself to be crazy sometimes!  Dance in the rain, take a picture of you doing funny poses, chase a butterfly, and eat exotic foods!

   4. Learn to appreciate art and beauty- Read a good book, draw or paint, make a scrapbook, watch interesting movies!

5. Smell the flowers- Sometimes, the smallest things in life give us more happiness than anything else. Look around you. Give Mother Nature the attention she deserves. Listen to the soft humming of the breeze, take picture of the birds... smell the flowers!

6. Banish negative thoughts- Did you know? Depression is due to negative view of your self, your surrounding, and your future. So why waste your time thinking about negative things when you can choose to be positive and optimistic? Learn how to be contented and be thankful.

7. Love people- Look for the good things, not the bad. What I learned in writing novels is that each character is important. Even an antagonist has a reason why he do certain things. Remember, we’re all unique. Don’t expect everyone to act like you.

8. Talk to God- Set a time each day to meditate and talk to our Maker. It will help focus your mind and you will be assured that everything’s gonna be alright. After all, there’s no impossible with God!

What are the things that make you happy? ^___^

See yah!

Last Wednesday, bestfriends Purple and Green went to watch Ms. And Mr. DCC 2010. They may not be studying in Davao Central College anymore, but they just love meeting their old friends and classmates.

It was not really planned. Purple didn’t know about the event. Green didn’t know it also until the very last minute! Not wanting to miss out anything from her old school, Green texted Purple.

The Purple Lady was still in the Mall that time but she immediately agreed to go to the yearly school pageant.  They arrived at 8:30 in the evening, wearing purple and green tops!

Purple and Green, not missing the chance to have their picture taken.

Of course, a show would not be complete without FOODS (Yum, yum!). Purple’s friend, the Ravishing Red, suddenly disappeared. When he returned, he brought with him some junkfoods and bottled juices.

Our super sweet sponsor, Ravishing Red
Want some???

Green: Yummy!
Purple: (sigh) I wish she'll give me some...

Green: No! I won't share MY food!
Purple: Duh! She's such a pig... ^_^

One of the reasons they went there was to take lots and lots of pictures! I already warned you in my earlier post. They simply love photographs!
So, who took their pictures in this event? Who else but the Ravishing Red! He’s not only the sponsor, he’s also the photographer. Haha! Isn’t he so sweet?

Oh my, momay!!!

And this blog post won’t be complete without sharing this freaky but funny picture. Pretty Purple was telling the Gorgeous Green a horror story. Something scary and weird. And take a look at Green’s eyes!

Girl version of Edward Cullen

Well, this is a contest, right? Who did the two cheer for?
Since they were not really close to the contestants, they did not know whom to support. So what they did was cheer for themselves! Haha! Really!
Pretty Purple shouted: Puuuurple!!!
Gorgeous Green yelled: Greeeeeen!!!

Go Purple and Green!
Hmmm... Don't you think they should also be in the pageant???

Oh, well...

Maybe you're wondering who won the contest.

AND THE WINNER IS....

*Drum Roll Please!*

IT'S THE GORGEOUS GREEN!!! HAHA...

See yah!

Time for a little Trivia. ^__^

Did you know...?

Well, I guess you don't. Haha... Well anyway, in facebook, Pretty Purple has three hundred three (yes, it's 303!!!) UNREAD messages. She never opened them. Most of them came from admirers, probably saying some nonsense lovey-dovey things.

Gorgeous Green, on the other hand, has 321 friend requests! That's how lazy she is in accepting friend requests. She doesn't add anyone whom she doesn't know. A little snobbish, eh??? ^__^

Purple and Green may be different as night and day. But there's one thing they both love. Photography!

Yep. These two ladies love pictures. In fact, when they go out, they always make sure they have camera with them. Life is too wonderful and they want to capture each moment of it.

Purple sometimes models for some photographers. The camera loves her face. Any angle would be wonderful.
Green, on the other hand, loves taking picture of her little sisters.

In the previous post, we mentioned about the Purple's sweetness. The Green Girl decided to share some stories related to that.

Green--> I've been so honored to be Pretty Purple's friend. She's very thoughtful and she spoils me sometimes! Haha... I'm not in the mood to make some stories right now. So instead, let me just share to you some pictures. Have fun!

Pretty Purple suddenly showed up in our house and gave me that blue skittles. How sweet is that??!

Again, the Purple Lady went to our house to have a small chitchat. Later, we went to a convenience store and she bought the Purple Goya. She remembered that she promised to gave me Snickers too, so she also bought that and she gave the two chocolates to me! Yey!

Did you know...?

Well, for those who are close to Purple and Green, you might already know this. But for those who don't... well, just continue reading. *wink*

The Purple Lady is quite outspoken. She speaks whatever comes to her mind and whatever it is she's feeling at the moment. She's friendly and easily gets well with the people around her.

But well, the Green Girl is not. She's more of a shy type. She doesn't like showing her feelings. In short, she's not sweet.

In our ealier post, we said that they both enrolled in the same school. They went there together but they don't have the same schedule. So the Green Girl missed the Puple Lady.

Read this story from Pretty Purple. She made this on June 22, 2010.

A story that  happened 11hours ago...

The lady who glamorously stepped down stairs, wearing black & white shirts and skirts, saw some shades of Purple at the lobby...
She took more steps to reach the place where the smile of a girl was found. She looked at this girl sitting at the armchair, front of the cashier around 12pm in Tuesday noon...Gorgeously standing and said...

"Woi na miss kita!"

The first sweetest word that Purple heard from Green in person...

Thanks!
